Spring Trophy Competition

By 4 May 2026No Comments2 min read

On Saturday 2nd May, the band took part in the British Open Spring Festival. This year the event moved from Blackpool to Birmingham, meaning an early start as we travelled by coach!

We had a fantastic day and were delighted to finish 7th out of 20 bands in the Senior Trophy — our highest ever placing at this event.

We’re incredibly proud of everyone’s hard work and commitment in preparing for and delivering the performance, with special mention to Sion (principal cornet) and Gordon (soprano cornet), who tackled some particularly challenging solos within the piece.

That’s two contests in two weekends for us, and we’re already looking ahead to our next challenge: the Whit Friday March Contests at the end of May! 🎺
