Mark was invited to conduct The Longridge Band at the North West Area Contest in 2010. He thoroughly enjoyed himself and decided to stay!
Since 2010, Mark has led the band to contest success throughout the country, establishing them as a highly successful contest and concert band. Podium positions at the NW Area; National Championships of Great Britain (First Section); Brass at the Guild; Bolsover; Rochdale; Butlins, Northern Open, Leicester Open and Whit Friday have helped them reach the top 50 ranking bands in the BrassStats World Rankings.
Aside from Mark’s conducting at Longridge, he continues to work with many of the country’s leading brass bands on a freelance basis. He has worked with Brighouse and Rastrick, Fairey Band, Carlton Main, Hepworth, Pemberton and many others. He is also proud to be the Musical Director of the Greater Manchester Youth Brass Band, which is made up of the most talented young brass musicians from the Greater Manchester Music Hub.
The Longridge Band has become home to the Peacock family with wife Alison being a member of the baritone section and their two sons Josh and Harry remaining as registered members of the band, even though they are now both serving in the Royal Air Force.
