Thank you to everyone who came to our Christmas Concert on Saturday 7th December at the Longridge Civic Hall. During the night several awards were presented.

Olivia Hurst is this year’s winner of the Hilda Marle-Collis trophy. The trophy is presented by Mark Peacock to a promising young player. Olivia is currently in her third year studying music at the RNCM. Olivia has recently been promoted to the repiano cornet seat, and she has played brilliantly in concerts and competitions.

Mark Taylor (Spud) is this year’s winner of the Bill Bigley award. The award is voted for each year by the members of the band. Mark is our assistant principal cornet player and he has played brilliantly whilst we have had a principal cornet vacancy for a few months. Mark also has a fantastic sense of humour which lifts the spirt of the band throughout the year! The award was presented by Bill’s widow Anita Mclaughlin.

Lauren is this year’s winner of the William Fordham trophy. The award was presented by Jon Ford, the conductor of our Youth Band. Lauren has made fantastic progress on her tenor horn this year, she always has a smile on her face and is a dedicated member of our Youth Band.

Well done Olivia, Mark and Lauren!
