Sadly, Whit Friday was the last official engagement for three of our fantastic players.
Adam Snape came back to the band to originally help us out on Eb bass. He later took up the position of solo euphonium and has played brilliantly in concerts and competitions over the last few years.
Our principal cornet and soprano cornet players, Georgina and John Atkinson have also decided to leave the band. Both have made a huge impact. Georgina has won soloist prizes on many occasions with the band, most notably at the Bolsover Festival of Brass in 2022 where Georgina played John’s brilliant arrangement of Amazing Grace.
John has become increasingly busy within the last year, taking on the musical director position at the Lostock Hall Band. John is achieving great results with the band. John has also recently been promoted to Assistant Headteacher at his school.
We would like to thank Georgina, John and Adam for their time and service with the band, and we wish them every success for the future.
